The Kitch - Garrison genealogy list.

This is an attempt to help to know who we are,
and remember where we came from; these are the "Roots" that have
nourished our blossoming trees, allowing us to grow. It is dedicated to
all who have paved the roads for us, and the world we live in.

If any errors are found I would like to correct them, or if you would just like to tell me about the ancestors you found here,  please contact me at: jerrygarrison@yahoo.com .  I do try and reply to all who write.  This revision may have changed a search engine referral page; if so, please

Ruth Zamora
Memorial services for Ruth Zamora, 65, will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2003, at the First Lutheran Church, 309 North 9th Street, Northwood, with Rev. Allan J. Stoa officiating. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood. Visitation will be a half-hour prior to service time on Monday at the church. Ruth died May 20, 2003 from the debilitating effects of Hepatitis C, the problems of rejection following a liver transplant and a faulty heart valve which had taken a heavy toll on Ruth's health and reduced the quality of her life. Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008-1st Ave. South, Northwood, is in charge of the arrangements.

Ruth Diane (Whitcome) Zamora was born on May 11, 1938, the daughter of Ellsworth and Alice (Anderson) Whitcome, in Northwood. She attended and received her education in Northwood School system, graduating from Northwood High School in 1956. She became a member of the helping professions, graduating as a nurse from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. She began her nursing career in Des Moines, and then continued nursing in San Antonio, TX. She moved to California as a Hospital Administrator. After several years, she took positions in administration in West Monroe and New Orleans, LA. She was especially proud of her work at her last position as the administrator at a specialty hospital in New Orleans. Ruth had to leave that position when she discovered that she had Hepatitis "C" and was put on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Her successful transplant took place on Christmas Eve 2000. Ruth loved her family and her friends. She loved the outdoors especially the time she spent fishing and visiting in the area of Voyageurs National Park in Northern Minnesota where she vacationed for many years.

Left to cherish her memory is a devoted and loving daughter, Shelle Kitch and her husband Jeff of New Orleans, LA, two grandchildren, Alex and Amanda Kitch; her brothers, Roger Whitcome and his wife Lola of Grundy Center, IA, and Charles Whitcome and his wife Carol of International Falls, MN, two nephews, Scott and Michael Whitcome; two nieces, Julie Rees and Alison Noble; as well as other relatives and many friends. Her parents, Ellsworth and Alice Whitcome, preceded her in death.

This page was made possible through the help of many people.

First, and foremost, I want to thank my ancestors, without whom I wouldn't be here, and without whom I wouldn't be the same person I am.  Second, all of the people on the Kitch-L list who have helped and given encouragement, but especially for the major contributions by Linda (Antram) Smith and Tom Kitch; these two furnished both inspiration and names and dates, as well as a sounding board for my ideas.  In addition I have had help and support from H. Vernon of California, the Pattersons of Iowa, C. Farnham of California, and too many others to name here.  It is appreciated, and as long as we keep living, our genealogy will continue growing.
