The Kitch - Garrison Genealogy pages

A Family Group Sheet based genealogy site, dedicated to those who came before us (although some of them could have been more considerate at leaving records!)

Many of us wonder where we came from, usually asking as we get older and those who knew the most aren't there.  Or we get the typical story about three brothers who came for (the War, the Gold Rush, etc) and one went West, one South, and one North; that was the story I started out with.  Only after I started looking into actual documents did I find the Kitch side not only didn't come over for the Revolutionary War (although several of them served in it - documented), but pre-dated that in the Colonies by about 50 years.  Like most families, I found the gambler, the church founder, the scoundrel, the teacher, all of which went into making me the person I am; I don't think the combination turned out too badly.  Doing this work, I have had people write of their memories of some of the cousins I've never met; that flavor, that fleshing out of my ancestors, has made all of the evenings doing research throughout the country while traveling on business, worthwhile.  I hope these pages help you, and I welcome any comments.

Thanks are given to many people for their help, Linda (Antram) Smith and Tom Kitch for acting as sounding boards for ideas (and kicking me into action when I got lethargic), Connie Kleinwort and Larry Osborne (for my Garrison pictures), Beverly Vance, and too many to list.

Even more importantly, to my ancestors, the good and the bad (we're all human, even I'm not perfect - almost, but not quite ;) ) without whom I wouldn't exist to put this together.  Please contact me with any corrections, comments, kudos or brickbats at Jerry B Garrison .
